ONE in four Sheffielders would keep their loved ones’ ashes at home, according to a survey by Co-operative Funeralcare.

One in 15 would scatter the ashes in the garden at home, a fifth would keep them in the bedroom - and 29 per cent would display them on the mantelpiece.

One in 35 would keep the ashes with them at all times, while one in seven people would turn the ashes into a lasting memorial, such as a sundial or jewellery.
