Barnsley's '˜two ticks' for positivity in employment

Barnsley Hospital has been awarded a '˜two ticks' accreditation, for being positive about employing disabled people.

The ‘two ticks’ Positive About Disability symbol is awarded by Jobcentre Plus to employers who are positive about opportunities for disabled people, and have made commitments to employ, keep and develop disabled members of staff.

Barnsley Hospital’s Equality and Diversity Manager, Beverley Powell, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the symbol fourteen years in a row. We are proud of our continued commitment to the equality and diversity agenda.

“The symbol helps to make it clear to disabled people that we are positive about their abilities and welcome applications from them. It also shows our existing employees that we value their contribution and will treat them fairly should they become disabled.”
