Youngsters from two Barnsley primary schools have helped bring a local library book to life by starring in a film which tells its story.
Children from Joseph Locke Primary and Lacewood Primary told the adventures of Hairy Mclary in a special video available on Barnsley Council’s Youtube page.
The project was developed as part of the Booktime programme, which provides free books to children aged four to five years old.
Coun Jenny Platts, cabinet spokesperson for communities, said: “We would really like to thank the children who brought the story to life.
“We do hope that families who may not usually come into our libraries, will see for themselves what fun and creative places they really can be.”
