Barnsley mum died of head injuries after crash

A mum, aged 29, died of head injuries following a crash in Barnsley, a post mortem examination has revealed.

Lorna Humble, of Lang Avenue, Lundwood, Barnsley, died when the Citroen C1 she was driving was involved in a collision with a cement mixer lorry and a Vauxhall Vectra, just off the roundabout at the junction of Fish Dam Lane and Industry Road, Carlton, on Monday afternoon.

An inquest into Lorna's death was opened and adjourned yesterday.

A 27-year-old woman who was also travelling in Lorna's car at the time of the smash suffered life threatening injuries.

The drivers of the other two vehicles involved escaped unharmed.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
