Barnsley landowners wanted for Tour de France next year

Have your say

Landowners in Langsett and Penistone are being asked to contact Barnsley Council if they have land that could be uses for vehicle parking or as a campsite when the Tour de France rolls into town.

About 100,000 spectators are expected to watch the stretch of the route through Barnsley borough on Sunday, July 6.

Coun Roy Miller, of Barnsley Council, said: “Not only will you be helping us give a great welcome to the thousands of spectators but there’s also a financial benefit – it makes business sense to maximise the opportunities.”
