The Reds have secured nine points in their last six games, with a win at high-flying Birmingham City to boot last time out.

The Oakwell club sit in 12th place in the Championship and Heckingbottom insists any Reds fan would have been thrilled if you offered them that at the start of the campaign.

“We have to push forward because we know how hard it is in this league,” said Heckingbottom.

“You take your foot off the gas and you can have a run of games that knock you back down.

“Confidence has been good. I keep hearing people say it’s been a difficult run, but we’ve only had one defeat in six and taken nine points from those six games.

“We know we’re capable of picking up positive results.”

The Canaries are on the cusp of the play-off places after ending a dismal five-game losing streak in the league by thrashing Brentford 5-0 last week.

Heckingbottom believes the visitors will present another tough test.

“I’m expecting, in terms of selection and how they’ll try and play, similar to what they did against Brentford,”he said.

“Apart from five league defeats in a row, they’ve been strong all the time.

“The majority of the players have been successful at this level before.”
