A Barnsley choreographer is looking for women to take part in his production of COAL - a tribute to those who fought for the survival of their livelihoods during the Miners’ Strike.

Gary Clarke, from Grimethorpe, is looking for four women to join him, his seven dancers and five musicians from the internationally acclaimed Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band on stage at Cast in Doncaster this July.

His dance piece marks the 30th anniversary of the end of the 1984/5 miners strike.

Alongside the company of professional dancers and brass band musicians there will also be archive film footage bringing the story of the conflict to life.
