Barnsley charities offered chance to gain funding
Barnsley Council is giving community groups in Wombwell, Hemingfield and Jump the chance to apply for funding grants.
The Captain Allott’s Charity makes donations of up to £300 to worthy local causes and the next deadline for completed application forms is Friday, November 25.
Applications will be considered at a charity management meeting on Friday, December 16.
A council spokesperson said: “Applications are limited to groups whose normal meeting place is in these areas of Barnsley and any projects will be considered.”
Captain Allott was a philanthropist who bequeathed his large house to local people. The property was sold by the council and the money raised put into a special fund.
