The Reds sit four points outside the top six with a game in hand, and have seven games left to turn their season completely on its head after languishing in the lower reaches of the table earlier in the campaign.

Heckingbottom's side have continued their play-off push despite the distraction of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy run, which culminated in them lifting the cup at Wembley on Sunday.

And the stand-in chief was keen to stress that the club's success is down to a terrific team effort.

"It's a credit to everyone involved and all the players - and I mean all of them," said Heckingbottom.

"We've been short and people who weren't in the team have stepped up and carried on earning points for us.

"And the staff as well; every staff member bar none has taken on more responsibiltiy because we lost our manager and we've not replaced him.

"So everyone is doing more work to try and keep the momentum and keep driving forward."
