Banned Blackburn Rovers pair to miss FA Cup clash with Manchester United in fall-out from defeat to Sheffield Wednesday

The fall-out from Sheffield Wednesday's win over Blackburn Rovers has seen the Lancashire side's Hope Akpan banned following his red card for laying his hands on referee Scott Duncan.

The Rovers midfielder was incensed by the disallowing of a late goal and confronted the match official, who immediately sent the player off. On twitter yesterday, Akpan denied pushing Duncan but has now been served with a ban which will see him miss his team's glamour FA Cup tie with Manchester United at Ewood Park this weekend.

Sheffield Wednesday won the match 2-1 thanks to a brace from Vincent Sasso.
