Bands raise cancer cash

PUNTERS at the New Barrack Tavern on Penistone Road in Hillsborough, Sheffield, raised more than £1,000 for Weston Park Cancer Hospital.

The fundraising event saw bands from all over the city playing to generous regulars who dug deep.

The pub’s staff would like to thank all those who went along and donated money or bought raffle tickets.

Thanks also go to all the bands who gave up their spare time to perform for a good cause.

Weston Park Cancer Hospital which is located Broomhill, is one of only four dedicated cancer hospitals in the UK, with an international reputation and world-class facilities.

The hospital caters for the 8,000 people diagnosed with cancer in this region every year, as well as patients from further afield.
