A BAKERY in Sheffield has scored a winner for charity by raising more than £600 thanks to Owls supporters.
Fletchers Group of Bakeries, based at Wadsley Bridge, raised £620 by allowing Sheffield Wednesday supporters to use its car park for the last home game of the season.
The club placed stewards on the car park at the firm’s Claywheels Lane site in Wadsley Bridge for the last match of the season and fans were charged a small fee to park on Fletchers’ land.
Fletchers raised £620 which they donated to ARC – which provides non-directive support and information to parents throughout the antenatal testing process.
ARC director Jane Fisher said: “We’ re really grateful to Fletchers and all who contributed can be assured the money goes directly to providing our much-needed support to anxious and bereaved parents.”
Fletchers Group HR director Steve Boyd said: “We’re thrilled to have made this donation – it just goes to show how a little idea can make a big difference.”
