Bags of fun at Derbyshire green festival

Family fun will be top of the agenda at Bakewell’s Green Festival on Saturday.

The free event, held at the town’s Agricultural Business Centre, will feature a host of entertainment to celebrate the environment.

Kicking off at 10am, youngsters can learn how to make puppets out of plastic carrier bags while folk singer Carol Fieldhouse will get the musical performances underway.

Storyteller and Balladeer Peter Castle will be in the main auction ring at 12 noon making way for the Derbyshire Poet Laureate Helen Mort, who was recently featured on BBC Radio 4.

Further entertainment will be provided in the festival marquee including singing, dancing and dramatics.
