A Conservative hopeful has called upon rail bosses to act swiftly on promises to improve services in part of Sheffield.
Alex Dale, Tory candidate for Sheffield Council’s Dore and Totley ward, has demanded Network Rail deliver on proposals for an extra section of track at Dore & Totley station following public consultation on the programme.
If plans are given the green light, the track would be in place by 2018.
Mr Dale said:“I welcome progress, but this isn’t the first time locals have heard of potential upgrades. I will do everything to facilitate overdue improvements.”
