Back on the tracks
The Wabtec works, formerly the British Railways Plantworks responsible for steam engines including the Mallard and Flying Scotsman, has delivered GNER's latest diesel onto the tracks.
The firm has completed the refurbishment of the third diesel 125 train as part of a 45 million contract which is seeing it transform 13 trains in all.

Hide AdThe refurbishment is intended to create more reliable, comfortable, quieter and greener trains for passengers on the East Coast Main Line.
Richard McClean0, GNER’s operations director, said: "Having already rebuilt our electric 225 Mallard trains, the popular 125s are now being transformed. They have done fantastic service.”
