AN APPRENTICE builder is going back to his roots – to build a new house on the site of his childhood home.
Ryan Robinson, aged 18, from Thurnscoe, Rotherham, a trainee bricklayer, is working with Keepmoat Homes on the new Seasons development in the village, which includes his old street.
He said: “It does seem a bit weird to think I’ll be building a new house on the plot where I lived until I was 10! But in a strange way I’m really looking forward to it.
“From what I’ve seen so far it is going to mean a massive change for the area and I’m really enjoying being part of it.
“I am also loving the work – despite the weather we’ve been having!”
Ryan is one of five – soon to be six – apprentice bricklayers and joiners working on the site.
