A free event, for those who wish to celebrate baby-wearing, is being held this weekend at Sheffield University’s Octagon.

Hundreds of families across the UK are expected to gather on Saturday for the Northern Sling exhibition, which is the brainchild of Sheffield GP, and mum-of-two, Dr Rosie Knowles.

Rosie said: “We are so excited to be holding the NSE in Sheffield again this year. The first event was a great success, and this year’s show promises to be even bigger and better, with seminars and workshops to help parents and carers learn all about slings and carrying. There will be a soft play area, to keep smaller visitors entertained, and market place offering the chance to chat to the faces behind popular brands.

“The positive effects of carrying our babies is considerable. Families thrive when children are carried.”
