‘Avoid the area’: Air ambulance lands and police close road after early-morning crash

An air ambulance has landed at a crash scene in South Yorkshire this morning.

Medics were flown to the A618 Pleasley Road, between Whiston and Aughton, after reports of a collision at around 8am.

A number of ambulances and fire engines are at the scene, with the road closed off by the police.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Please be aware the road is closed from Pleasley Road at Whiston to Treeton Lane at Aughton in Rotherham while officers attend a collision.
