A Sheffield graduate is to join a novelist in Rotherham to give book-lovers an insight into what inspires them.

James Wheatley, who graduated from Sheffield Hallam University, will be presenting his debut novel Magnificent Joe, in which main character Joe feels isolated by his learning disabilities in a former pit village before befriending another of ‘life’s outsiders’.

He will be appearing alongside Susan Elliot Wright, author of books including The Things We Never Said and The Secrets We Left Behind.

They will be discussing their work and successes, as well as telling fans what inspires them, at Rotherham’s town centre library on Wednesday, at 7pm.

Tickets, priced £2.50, must be booked in advance by calling 01709 823606.
