A WOMEN’S rights campaigner and author is heading for Sheffield.

Writer Selma James will give a talk on her recently-published anthology Sex, Race and Class, The Perspective of Winning - A Selection of Writings, 1952-2011, in the city on Thursday.

The founder of the Wages for Housework Campaign’s appearance is the latest addition to the Off the Shelf literary festival.

Organisers said Selma will speak powerfully about life and death issues - such as war, the environment and the economy - which determine today’s society. The event takes place in the main hall of Quaker Meeting House, St James Street, from 6.30pm.
