A Sheffield man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was left with life-threatening injuries.
A 29-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder after a 59-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and suffered a head injury.
The 59-year-old is currently in hospital with life-threatening injures.
Police were called to a house on Fairthorn Road, Firth Park, at about 6.45pm on Saturday, August 20.
Forensic investigators were called to the scene and cordoned off the house while they investigated.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police attended a domestic incident in Fairthorn Road, Sheffield, at around 6.45pm on Saturday 20 August.
“A 59-year-old man had reportedly been assaulted and suffered a head injury, which is thought to be life-threatening. He remains in hospital for treatment.
“A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody where he is being questioned by detectives.
“a police cordon in place at the scene has now been taken down.”
