Attack man’s head injuries

a MAN was left fighting for life in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in an attack on a Barnsley street.

The man was attacked on Church Street, Wombwell, at 1.30am on Saturday, August 6, and is now being treated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, where he is in a ‘stable’ condition.

Detective Chief Inspector Sean Middleton, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This is a serious assault.

“We know there were quite a few people on Church Street around the time of the assault. If you were on Church Street, I would urge you to contact us as you may have vital information that will help with our investigation.”

Adam Agar, aged 19, of Park Street, Wombwell, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
