Selected for England after finishing second in the English Schools Championships, Coxon, who clocked 43.90, was beaten by the English Schools winner Jasmine Jolly.

Hallamshire’s Lauren Fellotti was fourth in the javelin.

Rotherham won the final match of the Young Athletes Development League (NE 1) for u13 and u15 athletes at Doncaster.

Yorkshire duo Adam Hague (City of Sheffield and Dearne) and Charlie Myers (Middlesbrough) could not capitalise on the high quality contest and were below their best finishing equal sixth with 5.46.
