Atdhe Nuhiu gets on the scoresheet as Sheffield Wednesday seal third consecutive pre-season win

Sheffield Wednesday secured a third successive pre-season victory after beating Dutch club NAC Breda 1-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly in Manchester today.

Atdhe Nuhiu's 12th minute goal proved decisive as Jos Luhukay's side continued their preparations ahead of the 2018/19 Championship season.

It is Nuhiu's first goal since he committed his future to the Owls. The popular striker signed a new two-year contract at the end of last term.

The Kosovo international has been given a new lease of life by boss Luhukay and has notched nine goals in his last eight competitive outings, including a season finale hat-trick at home to Norwich City.

Luhukay fielded a strong Owls line-up and gave valuable game time to Steven Fletcher. The striker is on the comeback trail following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

Victory over Breda comes off the back of wins against Bury and Lincoln City.

The Owls, who have yet to concede a goal in pre-season, return to action on Tuesday when they go to Mansfield Town in their penultimate warm-up match.
