AN ASYLUM seeker is back in Sheffield after avoiding deportation to Cameroon.

Bernard Mboueyeu, who fled his homeland in 2007 claiming he was at risk for supporting a political group opposed to the ruling regime, married charity worker Sharon in 2010, and the couple live in Wincobank.

The Home Office were due to deport Bernard but the flight was cancelled and he has now been granted bail pending a possible judicial review.

Sharon said: “I’m delighted Bernard is back home with his family, who have missed him so much.”
