An assault which left two men unconscious has prompted a police appeal.

South Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses to a reported assault in Rotherham town centre last month.

Two 44-year-old men were reportedly assaulted at a bus stop in Nursery Road, North Anston, opposite the Little Meister pub, on December 19.

It is thought that an unknown man punched both men in the face, knocking them both unconscious.

The suspect is described as being white, in his mid-30s, around 5ft 4ins tall, with dark short hair. He was reportedly clean shaven, had broad shoulders and was wearing dark jeans with a two-tone sweater.

Police believe the suspect was with a woman of slight build, with blonde hair, wearing a dark dress.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
