A ROAD in South Yorkshire was cordoned off by police after a man suffered a broken jaw in an alleged assault.
The victim, believed to be in his late 20s, was injured on Rowms Lane in Swinton, near Rotherham.
The incident happened at around 9.10pm on Tuesday, and police taped off the scene yesterday morning to conduct further enquiries.
Rowms Lane was closed from the Marriott Road junction to the roundabout close to the Lidl supermarket.
Traffic queues built up in the area before the road was reopened at around 8am.
The assault victim was taken to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield to be treated for his fractured jaw.
