'Pavarotti' earns cut-price meal

POP into Caf Nova on Surrey Street, Sheffield, for lunch and say the magical word "Pavarotti" when paying the bill.

And, as if by magic, you get a 15 per cent discount.

Its chairman, Ronnie Massarella, former Chef d'Equipe (team manager) of Britain's Olympic showjumping team, says: "He was a fantastic gentleman.

"I am honoured to say I met him on numerous occasions at his annual Horse Show in Modena."

Cole brother's house for sale

You shall go to Cinders auditions

AUDITION call. Following up the Diary's story a few weeks ago, auditions for a girl to play the title role in the Lyceum Theatre's Cinderella panto this Christmas are at the next door Crucible on Saturday, September 29. You must be 17 or older, local and turn up at 10am.

Auditions for the junior ensemble (aged seven plus and no taller than 5ft 4in) are the following day at 10am.
