Road changes judged a mess

The jury may be out on Sheffield Council's attempts to improve the flow of traffic around the city.

But the judge is certain they've made a mess of it.

At a recent court case a witness described how she made her way across the city from Ecclesall to Norfolk Park.

Down Carterknowle Road, across Abbeydale Road and into Langdale Road, she said, before travelling along Little London Road and through Heeley.

Why that way, she was asked by the defence counsel.

Judge Robert Moore, who was presiding over proceedings, interjected:

"Because," he said. "It's the quickest route, or at least it used to be.

"Since then the council have changed all the roads, supposedly to make them better when in fact they have made them worse."

The truth hurts in job interviews

According to October's edition of Mens Health Magazine, 74 per cent of Sheffield men admit to spending a staggering two hours a day avoiding doing their work, by surfing the net, making tea, popping to the local shop or taking a cigarette break.

Not only that but 31 per cent admitted to lying in their job interview

Of those, 71 per cent went on to subsequently get the job.
