Artists could have work displayed in new Sheffield hotel

Have your say

Photographers and artists across Sheffield are being given the opportunity to have their work displayed in the city’s newest hotel.

The Hampton by Hilton Sheffield, on West Bar Green, is on the hunt for artwork to put on show in one of its main guest corridors.

Peter Hendry, the hotel’s general manager, said: “We really want the hotel to reflect the local area and the buzz that Sheffield city centre has to offer.

“There is a lot of talent in the local art and photography scene, and we want to make the most of that.

“Whether it’s photography, prints or more traditional artwork, we’d love people to send in their work for consideration.”

The artist behind the chosen artwork will also win an overnight stay for two at the hotel, with dinner at the adjacent Marco’s New York Italian Restaurant.

The only requirement for those entering is that their work must reflect Sheffield in some way.

To enter artwork, images should be submitted along with a full name and contact details to with the subject line ‘artist competition’.

The competition closes on Friday, March 28.
