AN EXHIBITION featuring ‘artefacts’ from the Occupy Sheffield protest camp which was outside the city’s cathedral for 99 days has gone on show.

Painting portraits of local homeless people by artist Nick Spencer are included in the display at Bank Street Arts in the city centre.

A tent from the camp, which ended in February after controversy and court hearings, as well as poetry, video and graffiti which people can add to are also among the objects.

Members of Occupy Sheffield and artists have contributed to the exhibition.

One is Mike Futcher, a digital video artist from Sheffield.

He said: “Occupy isn’t finished, the camp has gone but the movement goes on. The exhibition is almost a stop-gap to remember what happened but also remind people that we are carrying on.”

The exhibition depicts a conference held at the former Salvation Army Citadel where people from other Occupy movements around the world.

It will be on display until March 24.
