The gallery is in Church Street but also has a rear entrance in Eastgate, adjacent to the cottage, which can be transformed following a decision by councillors on Barnsley Council's planning board.

It will mean making some minor external changes to the building, including the addition of a small entrance porch, from the garden to the rear of the gallery.

There were no objections to the scheme and it was unanimously approved.

The changes will be another development for the gallery, which recently underwent a redevelopment which modernised its existing facilities.
