SHEFFIELD’S artists raised money for the British Red Cross at a charity art auction.

The silent auction, held at Sheffield Winter Garden, featured works donated by local artists such as comic book and street artist ‘Phlegm’ and cartoonist Pete McKee.

Bids came in from Europe and even the US to help raise a total of £3,100 for the charity.

British Red Cross senior fundraiser Max Newton said: “The British Red Cross would like to thank the artists very much for their generosity. This could not have taken place without them.”

The money will be used to help continue the British Red Cross work in Sheffield and the surrounding areas, ranging from care in the home, emergency response, therapeutic care and holding first aid courses.
