Police also seized 24 vehicles in connection with a variety of alleged offences, along with 5,000 in cash.

As part of the operation residents in crime hotspots such as Eastwood, Thrybergh and East Herringthorpe were given a chemical marking system that can be applied to household items, making them easier to trace if they are stolen.

Rotherham Council joined forces with the police to put boulders on a former railway embankment in Thrybergh to deter off-road bikers following complaints from residents.

A total of 2,726 arrests have been made across Humberside, North Yorkshire, South York-shire and West Yorkshire. More than 200,000 worth of drugs have been recovered and more than 100 vehicles impounded.
