A pair of pensioners who were forcibly arrested on a train station platform will return to the scene of the controversy next week – one year after the incident.

‘Freedom Riders’ Tony Nuttall and George Arthur were part of a group making their voices heard on cuts to rail travel passes.

The protesters will return to Sheffield Station on Tuesday at noon and demonstrate about complaints made against British Transport Police.

Mr Nuttall said: “I and other people who complained get a regular letter telling us that they are still investigating – but we never hear any outcome.”
