A man has been arrested following a shooting on a Sheffield estate on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were alerted to a shooting in Chadwick Road, Woodthorpe - yards away from Woodthorpe Community Primary School - at 11am.

A 29-year-old was shot in his leg in the attack. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Police have now arrested a 34-year-old man from Sheffield on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

He remains in police custody.
