Armed robbers escape with cash after supermarket raid in Sheffield

They struck at Tesco Express, Sharrow Lane, Sharrow, at 9.05pm last night.

One of the men is believed to have been armed with a metal bar.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “At around 9.05pm on Wednesday, it is reported two men with their faces covered entered a Tesco Express in Sharrow Lane, threatening staff.

“One of the men is believed to have had a metal bar. Nobody is reported to have been injured during the incident.

“A quantity of cash was taken and officers are keen to hear from anyone with information.

“Did you see anything suspicious in the area yesterday evening? Did you witness the robbery?”
