Armed police descend on South Yorkshire village

Armed police have descended on a South Yorkshire village.

Stubbin Road, Nether Haugh, Rotherham (Google).

Officers are reportedly blocking one side of the B6089 Stubbin Road in Nether Haugh near Rotherham, causing long tailbacks to form on the approach to the Cortworth Road junction.

An eyewitness said he saw unmarked police vehicles there as well as armed police.

South Yorkshire Police have not yet commented on the incident.
