Are Jeremy Clarkson and pals coming to Whiston in new Amazon Prime show?

Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May - the former Top Gear presenters - could be on their way to Whiston, Rotherham, in their new Amazon Prime show.

That’s according to a tweet by James this evening after the presenters appealed for suggestions on where to take their new show on the road.

May, who was one of the three presenters of BBC Two’s Top Gear before Jeremy Clarkson’s punch-up with a producer, said: “Many people are suggesting locations for our Grand Tour tent.

“Great. Haven’t heard anything from Whiston in South Yorkshire, though.”

The tweet was met with some calling for the trio to head to Whiston.

While probably tongue in cheek, it could be a reference to a location seen in the new show - after all, Jeremy Clarkson is from Doncaster.

The three will be reuniting for their upcoming Amazon Prime web streaming service motoring show.

The BBC, meanwhile, is set to relaunch Top Gear with a new presenting team including Chris Evans and former Friends star Matt LeBlanc.
