Are awards deserved?

Well, while on a bus journey I was reading the free paper that buses carry when I came across the story regarding the Duchess of Cambridge, the Air Cadets new patron, and her first engagement was launching the unit's 75th anniversary.

Looking very nice in her blue Alexander McQueen coat and pinned on it was the Dacre Brooch, the highest award any female cadet can earn.

Wait a bit, did I read that properly, the highest award any female cadet can earn?

Can someone tell me, when did the Duchess earn this?

I would think the female cadets have to work hard to earn this brooch.

I expect now it will be proudly worn in public on many occasions (I will be watching).

Don’t get me wrong, wear it with pride, “IF” you put the work in for it.

It’s no wonder all the Royals parade about with a chest full of medals, it makes you wonder if they are deserved.
