The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, will visit the Moor Market in Sheffield next month as part of a four-day mission across the Sheffield Diocese, involving 21 Bishops of the Church of England.
Hundreds of events will take place in schools, pubs, universities, colleges, shopping centres, community centres, cafes and churches.
Julie Dore, Leader of Sheffield City Council, said: “It is an honour to welcome the Archbishop of York and his party of bishops to Sheffield.
“I hope that the group will enjoy their time in Sheffield, and that many people will come into the city centre during the visit to be part of this important occasion for the city.”
The Archbishop will arrive at the market at lunch time on Saturday, September 12 to address people on the Moor before talking to stallholders.
