Legendary former Sheffield United boss Dave Bassett could be set for a sensational return to the city, as an advisor at rivals Wednesday.
It is understood that Bassett, affectionately known as ‘Harry’ throughout his career, has been approached by Hillsborough officials with a view towards taking up a football advisory role on the club’s board.
Following the relinquishing of the football committee at Sheffield Wednesday it is believed that a Director of Football-type position is being opened up to help Owls head coach Carlos Carvalhal and Bassett has been sounded out for the post.

Long before that, Bassett had acquired legendary status at United having guided the Blades to two successive promotions and into the top flight in 1990, where they stayed until 1994.
A source close to Bassett said: “Harry is no fool. He know’s it would be a tough decision because of his love for United.”
