Apple recognises David as one of UK's top computer teachers

DONCASTER College lecturer David Kirtlan has been named as one of the country's top computer experts by a global manufacturer.

The Faculty of Arts deputy head has been given the title of Apple Distinguished Educator by the firm.

He is one of only 75 ADEs in the country, and his title means David is one of the first people in Britain to know about new Apple products and how they can be used to teach his students at Doncaster College.

David said: “I get to go to Apple conferences where we discuss ideas on how the latest software can be used to help our students, particularly focusing on the use of Apple software in creative subjects.

“We use the latest software at the college so our students are getting the best experience possible.”

Some 95 per cent of the college’s computers used for creative courses are made by Apple.
