A police appeal has been launched to track down a missing Sheffield man.

Neil Slaney, aged 41, was last seen in the Dodworth area of Barnsley on September 3 when he visited his parents in Park Hill Grove.

He has not been seen since, and police are growing ‘increasingly concerned’ for his welfare, because his disappearance is considered to be out of character.

Police investigations suggest Mr Slaney, from Chapeltown, Sheffield, may be in Huddersfield area of West Yorkshire.

Officers are asking anyone recognising Mr Slaney to call police.

Mr Slaney is a white male, around 5ft 10 with short, brown hair, blue eyes and a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a brown Adidas jacket, blue top, grey jogging bottoms and a black baseball cap.

He also wears black-rimmed glasses and was thought to be carrying a rucksack.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 256 of September 4.
