Police have issued a renewed appeal in the search for a missing South Yorkshire man.

Officers from South Yorkshire Police launched the hunt for James Stephenson more than 10 days ago, after he failed to return to Cambian Oaks Hospital,Sheffield Road, Barnsley.

He told staff he intended to go shopping in the Huddersfield area, but did not return.

CCTV footage of the 40-year-old boarding a train from Leeds to London King’s Cross has been released to the public.

However, it is believed he could now be in the Dewsbury or Batley areas of West Yorkshire.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Despite extensive enquiries across the country, Mr Stephenson is yet to be found.

“Officers are keen to locate Mr Stephenson to ensure he is safe and well.”

Mr Stephenson has ginger hair and is about 5ft 8in tall.

When last seen, he was wearing a dark overcoat with a grey hooded top underneath and jeans.
