An appeal has been launched after two 13-year-old boys were mugged in Sheffield.

The two teenagers were walking down a Pitsmoor road when a man approached them on a red mountain bike, threatened them with a knife and demanded their mobile phones.

The boys handed over their phones before the suspect cycled away from the scene.

The incident happened between 2pm and 2.30pm on July 16 on Barnsley Road.

The boys were walking towards Osgathorpe Crescent, and the man fled on Barnsley Road towards the Northern General Hospital.

Neither boy was injured during the incident.

Police have issued CCTV images of a man they believe could hold information that could assist with their investigation.
