Franklin Ellis Architects has submitted a planning application seeking permission to build 34 apartments at Heritage Park, Albert Terrace Road - which was the site of the former Royal Infirmary hospital, which closed in the 1980s.

The development would consist of 17 one-bedroom properties, 16 two-bedroom homes and one three-bedroom flat and would be built on the current car park - resulting in the loss of 27 parking bays.

A decision is due to be made on the application by August 1.
