Have your say

Encouraging the growth and use of apples and pears is local organisation Apple of Your Isle.

The group is hosting a number of autumn pressing days, starting with one at Crowle Market Place on Saturday, October 11.

Spokesman Peter Barnard said: “If you have apples - wither from your own garden or from elsewhere - you can bring them along and use our apple scratters and presses to make your own juice which you can then take home.

“The juicing process is a very simple process and one which we encourage people to try.”

There is a £5 charge for half an hour’s use of the equipment.

Further dates are scheduled for Saturday October 18 in the grounds of Epworth Methodist Church and Saturday October 25 at the Farmer’s Farm Shop, Langholme Lane, Westwoodside.

Previous events have proved popular and it is advise to book a slot between 10am-4pm, phone Peter on 01427 873937 or email peter.barnard@me.com
