People in Sheffield would like to see the faces of Ant and Dec, Prince Harry and Michael Caine on bank notes, a new survey has revealed.
People in the city also said they'd like to see Star Wars actor Alec Guinness. Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien and James Bond star Dame Judi Dench gracing the nation's money.
Coininvest conducted research revealing the famous faces people from Sheffield would like to see featured on UK notes.
With the new £20 notes coming into circulation in 2020, Coininvest conducted a poll on 1,000 Brits to discover who they would like to see on UK currency.
And one in eight (12%) people from Sheffield said they want Prince Harry to be featured on UK currency.
As a third (35%) of Sheffield believe that the UK public figures featured on UK currency are outdated, Coininvest delved further to discover who they would like to see replace them.
Queen Elizabeth has been featured on banknotes since 1960, but those from Sheffield believe that her husband Prince Philip also deserves the honour of being featured on UK currency with 12% of the nation backing him as their favourite Royal to be on a UK banknote.
Award winning actor Alec Guinness (35%) was named as Sheffield’s number one choice to be featured on UK bank notes, followed by Lord of The Rings author J. R. R. Tolkien (29%) and actress Judi Dench (29%).
Ant and Dec (18%), Princess Diana (12%) and Michael Caine (18%) were also named as public figures those from Sheffield believe deserve the honour of featuring on UK bank notes.
