The National Coal Mining Museum is set to open its new memorial garden this weekend.

The garden, on the site of Caphouse Colliery near Wakefield, will celebrate and commemorate the lives of those who were a part of the industry, including the close-knit families and communities who supported the miners.

The opening will feature a live performance from the Maltby Miners Welfare Band at 1:45pm on Sunday November 15.
